A common adware called Conduit SearchProtect, which changes your browser's homepage to Conduit.com, is causing major problems for users .

WHAT IS Search Protect by Conduit?


Search Protect by Conduit is a horrible browser hijacker that takes over browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. It is another unwanted application. This program is powered by Search Conduit. Many victims find that homepage/start page and default search engine have been replaced by Conduit malwae. The Search Protect by Conduit has been a big pain for a long time. It modifies computer default setting to prevent users from accessing certain websites. Besides, it displays unrelated search results. People are redirected to advertising websites frequently. This application has been programmed to promote the third party. Some additional applications are installed without asking for permission. It would be a rough time for users to experience when keep Search Protect by Conduit virus inside. I installed Manycam on three computers in the past .They all got Search Protect by Conduit .I couldn't uninstall it ,t kept redirecting me on a fake Yahoo search .

Remove Search Protect by Conduit Step by step

Step 1 End process from Task Manager
explorer.exe

Step 2 Manually delete all implanted files
%AppData%\searchtoolbar\version.xml
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\*.
%Public%\Documents\Fonts\*.exe

Step 3 Clean all cookies 
*Google Chrome: Click on the Tools menu → select Options → Click “Under the bonnet” tab → locate “Privacy” section → browsing data” button → “Delete cookies

and other site data” to delete all cookies from the list.
*Internet Explorer: Click “Tools” → Click “safety” → “delete browsing history” → Tick “cookies” box and click delete
*Firefox:: Click “Tools” → Click “Options” → Click “Privacy” → Click “remove individual cookies”

Step 4 Eliminate from control panel
Windows 8
Move mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen. Click Settings on Charms bar and go to Control Panel. Select Uninstall a program and remove Search Protect by Conduit toolbar related programs.

Windows XP
Go to Start, navigate to Settings and click on Control Panel, navigate to Add or Remove Programs, choose Programs and Features, find Search Protect by Conduit  related programs, and hit Remove.

Windows 7/Vista
Go to Start, navigate to Control Panel, select Uninstall a program/Programs and Features, find Search Protect by Conduit  related programs, and click on Uninstall.

Step 5 Reset Browser setting
Mozilla Firefox
1.Press Alt+H and click Troubleshooting Information.
2.Click Reset Firefox.
3.Again click another Reset Firefox and click Finish.

Internet Explorer
1.Press Alt+T.
2.Click Internet Options and open the Advanced tab.
3.Click Reset.
4.Select the tick box and again click Reset.

Google Chrome
1.Press Alt+T.
2.Point to Tools and click Extensions.
3.Remove the unwanted browser add-on.
4.Click Settings.
5.In the On startup section, click the last option and click Set pages.
6.Change the startup page.
7.In the Search section, click Manage search engine and change the search provider.

Step 6 Remove proxy caused by Search Protect by Conduit Hijacker from your Browser ( Take Firefox as an example)
1. Under "Tools" in the browser tool bar select "Options".
2. In the "Options" window that pops up, click the "Advanced" tab at the top.
3. Click the "Network" subtab, and then click the "Settings" button in the "Connections" area.
4. If "No proxy" isn't selected, click it to mark "No proxy" as your preference. See image below:
5. Start Internet Explorer again.
