I somehow acquired Torn TV and a Babylon Toolbar last night when attempting to download a data recovery tool for a USB of mine. I believe I successfully got rid of the Babylon Toolbar and the like, but the Torn TV will not allow me to remove it from Uninstall Programs. Avast pops up and alerts me that it's analyzing a suspicious program,


A extension called Torn Tv as been installed accidentally.Even after removing it manually by clicking trash icon,it reappears every time i open chrome.Pls someone help get rid of this malware...

 heard that TornTV is pretty big with viruses and stuff like that... I tried to uninstall it, but it keep telling me that the shortcut required to do that was deleted or moved.

Step 1 End process from Task Manager

Step 2 Manually delete all implanted files

Step 3 Reset system DNS setting

Step 4 Eliminate from control panel
Windows 8
Move mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen. Click Settings on Charms bar and go to Control Panel. Select Uninstall a program and remove TornTV related programs.

Windows XP
Go to Start, navigate to Settings and click on Control Panel, navigate to Add or Remove Programs, choose Programs and Features, find TornTV related programs, and hit Remove.

Windows 7/Vista
Go to Start, navigate to Control Panel, select Uninstall a program/Programs and Features, find TornTV related programs, and click on Uninstall.

Step 5 Reset Browser setting
Mozilla Firefox
1.Press Alt+H and click Troubleshooting Information.
2.Click Reset Firefox.
3.Again click another Reset Firefox and click Finish.

Internet Explorer
1.Press Alt+T.
2.Click Internet Options and open the Advanced tab.
3.Click Reset.
4.Select the tick box and again click Reset.

Google Chrome
1.Press Alt+T.
2.Point to Tools and click Extensions.
3.Remove the unwanted browser add-on.
4.Click Settings.
5.In the On startup section, click the last option and click Set pages.
6.Change the startup page.
7.In the Search section, click Manage search engine and change the search provider.

Step 6 Remove proxy caused by TornTV from your Browser ( Take Firefox as an example)
1. Under "Tools" in the browser tool bar select "Options".
2. In the "Options" window that pops up, click the "Advanced" tab at the top.
3. Click the "Network" subtab, and then click the "Settings" button in the "Connections" area.
4. If "No proxy" isn't selected, click it to mark "No proxy" as your preference. See image below:
5. Start Internet Explorer again.
