How to Get Rid of AVG Secure Search from Chrome/Firefox/Explorer


I have tried many of the method suggested by user but AVG Secure Search is unaffected or goes away but keeps coming back.

Step 1 Show all hidden files

 1. Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
2. Click on the Start button. This is the small round button with the Windows flag in the lower left corner.
3. Click on the Control Panel menu option.
4. When the control panel opens click on the Appearance and Personalization link.
5. Under the Folder Options category, click on Show Hidden Files or Folders.
6. Press the Apply button and then the OK button.

Step 2 The following files must be deleted
%AppData\toolbar\coupons\categories.xml
%AppData\toolbar\coupons\merchants.xml
%AppData%\searchtoolbar\log.txt
%AppData%\searchtoolbar\preferences.dat
%AppData%\searchtoolbar\stat.log

Step 3 Uninstall from Control Panel

Move mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen. Click Settings on Charms bar and go to Control Panel. Select Uninstall a program and remove Cloud-connect.net related programs.

Windows XP
Go to Start, navigate to Settings and click on Control Panel, navigate to Add or Remove Programs, choose Programs and Features, find Cloud-connect.net related programs, and hit Remove.

Windows 7/Vista
Go to Start, navigate to Control Panel, select Uninstall a program/Programs and Features, find Cloud-connect.net related programs, and click on Uninstall.

Step 4 Open Registry Editor and clan all associated registries
(Steps: Hit Win+R keys and then type regedit in Run box and click on OK)

Step 5 Reset Browser Setting
Mozilla Firefox
1.Press Alt+H and click Troubleshooting Information.
2.Click Reset Firefox.
3.Again click another Reset Firefox and click Finish.

Internet Explorer
1.Press Alt+T.
2.Click Internet Options and open the Advanced tab.
3.Click Reset.
4.Select the tick box and again click Reset.

Google Chrome
1.Press Alt+T.
2.Point to Tools and click Extensions.
3.Remove the unwanted browser add-on.
4.Click Settings.
5.In the On startup section, click the last option and click Set pages.
6.Change the startup page.
7.In the Search section, click Manage search engine and change the search provider.
